'RESPAWN FOREVER'

this diptych 240x17cm is the
second one in the series.
It features the same rules
of exploration. one of the rules is
to always have a hand with a stick
interrupting and poking into to
the painting.

'The Second Presence'
shown at Bunny's Garage Gallery
for the exhibition tremendous
quality of innocence.

this diptych 240x17cm is the first
painting in the respawning
series. respawning is when
you die in a video game and you just
spawn back into it, but sometimes
it lags and you just end up
on top of yourself, copy pasted
many times. just like when your mind
is taking small mental screen shots
to store in your memory. but when you
scroll through 15.000 images a day
your buffer gets filled up so when
you close your eyes you see all
the 15.000 impressions of your day
scattered on top of each other.

Visions from Gaspelhof;
when i was a kid i visited sigmar polke's
house in gaspelhof with my parents,
there I made a drawing of his cat with
many tails laying under a rose bush.
the sketch became this painting.

i thought sigmar was a banker
as a kid since he usually wore
blue shirts and khaki trousers
like all the other bankers
working opposite my school
as a kid. i didn't know that he
was an artist, i thought he
just had a lot of art in house.
i thought his brother made all
the art and that he was sleeping
all the time in his studio because
he was a musician being drunk
all the time at night playing gigs.
i also thought his cat had many tails.
guess i was dreaming
